Ministry of Agriculture and Food ORDER September 26, 1996, ## 197 On Measures to Improve Activity of Enterprises Dealing with Processing of Agricultural Products. Governmental Resolution ofKyrgyz Republic 1/ 432, September 17, 1996 noted, that the process of Land-AgrarianReform in Kyrgyz Republic, the creation ofpeasant, private farms identify new tasks in issues ofprocessing and marketing ofproduced agricultural products. At present time the processing complex ofthe Republic is characterized by decrease ofvolume ofproduction in main industries. Enterprises dealing with the processing ofagriculturalproducts arenot able to continue their operation because ofthe lack of raw materials, high purchase prices. huge transport expenses on it's delivery from the places they've been produced, the shortage ofworking capital. The production of important food products in the Republic in 1995 was decreased ten times in comparison with 1990. There is no processing ofpotatoes in the Republic, the volume ofproduction of dry fruits and vegetables was reduced, the production of tinned goods from fruits andvegetables was minimised. The quality of products, their package do not correspond to the level of world standards, that's why products are not in demand on domestic and external markets. Many farms have to stop the production ofagricultural raw materials due to the lack of guaranteed purchaseofproducts by processing enterprises or organise their own mini-production. Mini-plants and plants, asusual, are created without serious economic investigations, calculations, feasibility study. Very often such kind ofplants will be closed very quickly, so that's just wasting of investments and the capital of producers. It is necessary to keep the existing potential of production capacity in food processing industry from the complete destruction. In order to improve the processing ofagricultural products in the Republic, to increase it's competitive ability, to extend the export to CIS and abroad. ORDER; 1.
