Fisheries (General) (Amendment) Regulations, 2007 (L.N. No. 128 of 2007)

LEGAL NOTICE No. 128 THE FISHERIES ACT (Cap. 378) IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 23 of the Fisheries Act, the Minister for Livestock and Fisheries Development make the following Regulations – THE FISHERIES (GENERAL) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 2007 1. These Regulations may be cited as the Fisheries (General) (Amendment) Regulations, 2007. 2. Sub. Leg. 2. The Fisheries (General) Regulations in these Regulations referred to as the “principal Regulations” are amended by deleting regulation 0. 3. The principal Regulations are amended by deleting regulation 11. 4. The principal Regulations are amended by deleting regulation 13. 5. The principal Regulations are amended in regulation 9 by inserting the following new paragraph immediately after paragraph (1) - “1A. A licence issued under this regulation shall entitle the holder to – (a) fish for aquarium fish in Kenya fishery water; (b) collect or culture any oyster; 6. The principal Regulations are amended in regulation 12 by deleting paragraph 4 and substituting therefor the following new paragraph – “4. a licence which shall remain in operation for two years from the date which it was issued” 7. The Second Schedule to the principal Regulations is amended – (a) by deleting item 1 and substituting therefore the following new item – “Registration of Local Fishing Vessels …………………… 200” (b) in item 2, by deleting item 2.1 and substituting therefor the following new item – “2.1 Fisherman’s licence ……………….. 200”. (c) in item 3.0 (j), by deleting the figure “1000” and substituting therefor the figure “200”; (d) by deleting item 2.2 and substituting therefor the following new item therefore – “2.2 Sport Fishing Licence …………….. 200”; (e) by deleting item 2.3; (f) by deleting item 3.0 (b); (g) by deleting item 3.0 (u) Dated the 14th June, 2007 J.K.
