An Ordinance further to amend the Sugar Development Fund Act, 1982 and the Sugar Cess Act, 1982 . Whereas Parliament is not in session and the President is satisfied that circumstances exist which render it necessary for her to take immediate action; 1998 SERIES I No. 52 OFFICIAL GAZETTE - GOVT. OF GOA 27TH MARCH, 2008 Now, therefore , in exercise of the powers conferred conferred by clause (1) of article 123 of the Constitution, the President is pleased to promulgate the following Ordinance: 1. Short title and commencement.- (1) This Ordinance may be cal led the Sugar Development Fund (Amendment) Ordinance, 200 8. (2) It shall come into force at once. 2. Amendment of section 4.- In the Sugar Development Fund Act, 1982, in 4 011982. section 4, in sub-section (1), after clause (bbb) , the following clause shall be in s ert e d, namely: " (b b b ) for defraying expenditure for the purpose of financial assistance to sugar factories towards interest on loans given in terms of any scheme approved by the Central Government from time to time." . 3. Amendment of section 3.- In the Sugar Cess Act, 1982, in section 3, in sub- 3011982. section (1), (a) for the w ords "fift een rupees" , the w ord s "tw enty-five rupees" sh al l be substituted; (b) the proviso shall be omitted.
