Undersized Sea-Fish Order, 1980

UNDERSIZED SEA-FISH ORDER 1980 I, PATRICK POWER, Minister for Fisheries and Forestry, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 225 of the Fisheries (Consolidation) Act, 1959 (No. 14 of 1959), and the Fisheries (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order, 1977 (S.I. No. 30 of 1977), as adapted by the Fisheries (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1978 (S.I. No. 195 of 1978), hereby order as follows: REG 1 1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Undersized Sea-Fish Order, 1980. (2) The Principal Order and this Order may be cited together as the Undersized Sea-Fish Orders, 1978 and 1980. REG 2 2. In this Order "the Principal Order" means the Undersized Sea-Fish Order, 1978 (S.I. No. 175 of 1978). REG 3 3. This Order amends the Undersized Sea-fish Order, 1978 to provide for a minimum length of 27 centimetres for whiting (all areas) and 45 centimetres for cod taken in the Irish Sea (International Council for the Exploration of the Sea, Statistical Area VIIa).
