No. 105 of 2007 EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES (WELFARE OF LAYING HENS) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS 2007 I, MARY COUGHLAN, Minister for Agriculture and Food, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), for the purpose of giving effect to Commission Directive No. 2006/83/EC of 23 October 20061, hereby make the following regulations 1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Welfare of laying hens) (Amendment) Regulations 2007. 2. The European Communities (Welfare of laying hens) Regulations 2002 (S.I. No. 98 of 2002) are amended— (a) in Regulation 2(1), by the substitution for the definition of “Commis sion Directive”, of— “ ‘Commission Directive’ means Commission Directive No. 2002/4/EC of 30 January 2002 as amended by Commission Directive No. 2006/83/EC of 23 October 2006;”, and (b) in Regulation 4(8)(b), by the substitution for “54” of “45”.
