Re: Supervision of the Preservation of Assets in the Form of Fishery Resources in Indonesia. The Minister for Cultivation, Taking into consideration: a. That exploitation of fishery resources in a rational manner and that the preservation efforts are the main elements of the general policies of fishery development; b. It is therefore considered necessary to stipulate the supervision of the preservation of assets in the form of fishery resources. In view of: 1. The Law on Coastal Fishery (State Gazette No. 144 of 1927); 2. Law No. 4 Prp of 1960; 3. Government Regulation No. 64 of 1957; 4. Presidential Decree No. 9 of 1973; 5. Presidential Decree No. 44 of 1974; 6. Presidential Decree No. 45 of 1974. To stipulate: To decide: First: To supervise the preservation of assets in fisheriesresources in accordance with the intensity of its exploitation, the following may be regulated: I. Areal/seasonal close, which includes: a. close of certain parts of ocean waters for one or more or all catching activities; b. close of certain or all parts of the ocean for a certain season for one or more or all catching activities; II. Control of catching activities, which include: a. Stipulation of the measurements, categories and number of vessels; b. Stipulation of the width of the net and other equipment for fish catching; c. Stipulation of quota of fishery produce. Second: Implementation of the activities referred to in the First point for certain parts of the ocean will be separately stipulated in a Decree of the Minister for Cultivation. Third: This Decree shall come into effect on the date of stipulation. Stipulated in Jakarta on 2 January 1975.
