S T A T U T O R Y I N S T R U M E N T S 2019 No. 971 ANIMALS, ENGLAND ANIMAL HEALTH The Control of Salmonella in Poultry (Amendment) Order 2019 Made - - - - 21st March 2019 Coming into force in accordance with article 1 The Secretary of State makes this Order in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 1 and 8 of the Animal Health Act 1981(a). Citation and commencement 1. This Order may be cited as the Control of Salmonella in Poultry (Amendment) Order 2019 and comes into force on the day after the day on which it is made. Amendment of the Control of Salmonella in Poultry Order 2007 2. In article 3 of the Control of Salmonella in Poultry Order 2007(b), before paragraph (a), insert— “(za) Regulation (EC) No 2160/2003 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the control of salmonella and other food-borne zoonotic agents(c);”. Gardiner of Kimble Parliamentary Under Secretary of State 21st March 2019 Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs EXPLANATORY NOTE (This note is not part of the Order) This Order amends the Control of Salmonella in Poultry Order (S.I. 2007/3574) to designate the Secretary of State as competent authority in respect of England for the purposes of Regulation (EC) No 2160/2003 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the control of salmonella and other food-borne zoonotic agents (OJ No L 325, 12.12.2003, p.1). An impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no, or no significant, impact on the private or voluntary sector is foreseen. (a) 1981 c. 22.
