Short Title This Proclamation may be cited as the “Nagoya Protocol on Access to Genetic Resources and the Fair and Equitable Sharing of the Benefits Arising from their Utilization Ratification Proclamation No. 753/2012”. 2. Ratification of the Protocol The Nagoya Protocol on Access to Genetic Resources and the Fair and Equitable Sharing of the Benefits Arising from their Utilization adopted by the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity at its tenth meeting held on 29 October 2010, in Nagoya, Japan is hereby ratified. 3. Power of the Institute of Biodiversity Conservation The Institute of Biodiversity Conservation is hereby empowered to take, in collaboration with the appropriate federal, regional and city administration government organs, all acts necessary for the implementation of the Protocol. 4. Effective Date This Proclamation shall enter into force on the date of publication in the Federal Negarit Gazeta. Done at Addis Ababa, this 27 th day of July, 2012.
