2020 TITLE BY REGISTRATION ACT 11 (AMENDMENT) COMMONWEALTH OF DOMINICA ACT No. 11 OF 2020. I assent CHARLES A. SAVARIN President 30thOctober, 2020 AN ACT TO AMEND THE TITLE BY REGISTRATION ACT, CHAP. 56:50. BE IT ENACTED by the Parliament of the Commonwealth of Dominica as follows: (Gazetted 30th October, 2020). 1. (1) This Act may be cited as the – TITLE BY REGISTRATION (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2020. Short title, commencement and duration. LS 71 2020 TITLE BY REGISTRATION ACT 11 (AMENDMENT) 72 (2) This Act is deemed to have come into force on the 1st day of September, 2020 and expires on the 31st day of October, 2021. 2. In this Act the Title by Registration Act is referred to as “the Act”. 3. The Act is amended by inserting the following new section 163A immediately after section 163: 163A. Notwithstanding section 163, from the 1st day of November, 2020 to the 31st day of October, 2021, for a first certificate of title and transfer subsequent to a first certificate of title, a solicitor shall charge a fee not exceeding 2.5% of the sale value of the property.”. 4. The Act is amended by inserting the following new section 166A immediately after section 166: 166A. Notwithstanding section 166, from the 1st day of September, 2020 to the 31st day of October, 2021 the judicial fee payable on every memorandum of transfer of land shall be 1% of the value of the land.”.
