No. 7 Consequential amendments Regulations An Act to amend the Shivping Re2:istrv Act 1985 ( 2 5 March 19 9 7 BE IT ENACTED by the Parliament of the Cook Islands in Session assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: 1. Short Title - This Act may be cited as the Shipping Registry Amendment Act 1997 and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Shipping Registry Act 1985 (hereinafter referred to as "the principal Act"). 2. amended by: Classification of ships before mzistration - Section 12 of the principal Act is (a) deleting from paragraph (b) the words "contained in Schedule 1" and substituting the vvords "approved by Minister, from time to time, and notified by notice published the Gazette"; (b) adding at the end of paragraph (c) the words "and with any regulations made under this Act in respect of any particular proposed activities a ship." 3. Consequential amendments - (1) Schedule 1 of the principal Act is repealed. (2) Schedule 2 of the principal Act is amended by deleting the words "to those conventions" and substituting the words "to those conventions subject to compliance with Cook Islands law." 2 Shipping Registry Amendment 1997, No. 7 4. Re,zulations Section 68 the principal Act is amended adding to subsection (2) the following new paragraph after paragraph (w): "(ww) the imposition requirements under Act as the Minister deems appropriate."
