Commencement These regulations come into force on the day after the date on which they are made, Interpretation In these regulations, Act means the Biosecurity Act 2008. Any term or expression that is defined in the Act and used, but not defined, in these regulations has the same meaning as in the Act. Fees and charges Fees and charges The fees and charges set out in Schedule 1 are payable for the matters provided in the schedule. The fees and charges are exclusive of value added tax. When fees and charges payable The fees and charges set out in Schedule 1 are payable on the making of the relevant application or on the performance of the relevant service, Director may grant exemption, waiver, or refund The Director may grant an exemption from, or waive or refund, any fee or charge set out in Schedule 1 in whole or in part, in any particular case or class of cases, Penalties Penalties The fixed penalties (instant fines) set out in Schedule 2 are payable for the offences provided in the schedule.
