YOUNG) Governor-General 14th April, 2016 AN ACT to amend the Brewery Act, Chapter 286 of the Substantive Laws of Belize, Revised Edition 2011; to provide for the duty payable on local beer to be the same as that of other CARICOM countries; and to provide for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto. (Gazetted 16th April, 2016). BE IT ENACTED, by and with the advice and consent of the House of Representatives and the Senate of Belize and by the authority of the same, as follows:- Short title. 1. This Act may be cited as the BREWERY (AMENDMENT) ACT 2016, 136 Brewery [No. 9 CAP. 286. and shall be read and construed as one with the Brewery Act which as amended, is hereinafter referred to as the principal Act. Amendment 2. Section 4 of the principal Act is hereby amended by of section 4. repealing subsection (1) thereof and replacing it with the following: “(1) There shall be levied, charged and collected in respect of beer, the applicable Second rate of duty as set out in the Second Schedule Schedule. to the Customs and Excise Duties Act, such CAP. 48. duty to be paid into the Consolidated Revenue Fund.” Repeal of 3. The following are hereby repealed: enactments. 8 of 2005. The Brewery (Amendment) Act, No. 8 of 2005; 16 of 2005. The Brewery (Amendment) Act, No. 16 of 2005; 18 of 2005. The Brewery (Amendment) Act, No. 18 of 2005. Commencement. 4. This Act shall come into force on the 1st day of April 2016.
