STRAUGHN HUSBANDS Governor-General 26th February, 2010. 2010 - 4 An Act to amend the Barbados WaterAuthority Act. (8th March, 2010). Commence­ ment. ENACTED by the Parliament of Barbados as follows: 1. This Act may be cited as 'the Barbados Water Authority Short title . (Amendment) Act, 2010. 2 Amend­ ment of sec uo n 2 of Cap. 274 A. BARBADOS WATER AUTHORITY (AMENDMENT) Aer,2010-4 2. Section 2 of the Barbados Water Authority Act, in this Act referred to as the principalAct, is amended bv inserting in the appropriate alphabeticalorder the following new definition: Cap. 3268. U "Commission" means the Fair Trading Commission established under section 3 of the Fair Trading Commission Act;". Inse rtion of new se ctio n 29A into Cap. 274A. 3. The principal Act is amended by insert ing the following new section immediately after section 29: "Rates and charges to be regulated by the Commiss ion Cap. 282. Cap. 326B. 29A .The rates and charges to be levied under this Act are subject to regulation by the Commission under the Utilities Regulation Act and the Fair Trading Commission Act. ". Savings. Amend­ men! of enact ­ ments in Schedule. 4. No thing in this Act shall operate to affect any exemption granted by the Board under paragraph (k) of section 28(2) of the principal Act before the commencement ofthis Act. 5. The enactments set out in the Schedule are amended to the extent indicated in that Schedule. BARBADOS WATER AUTHORITY (AMENDMENT) ACT,2010-4 (Section 5) SCHEDULE 3 Enactment 1. Fair Trading Commission Act, Cap. 326B 2. Utilities Regulation Act, Cap. 282 Amendment Renumber section 2 as subsection (l) ofthat section and insert th e follow­ ing as subsection (2) of that section: "(2) Section 36 of the Cap. 282. Utilities Regulation Act applies to the utility services specified in the Second Schedule.". Renumber section 2 a ssubsection ( I) of that section and insert the following as subsection (2) of that section : "(2) Section 36 applies to the utility services specified in the Schedule. " .
